Back in the late 1700's thousands of Christians fled
Portuguise ruled Goa and the Konkani region fearing
persecution from the Tippu Sultans invasion forces.
Many settled in Kasaragode and founded this church
dedicated to Mother of sorrows, named Bela Church.
